Currier’s blow molding business has seen tremendous growth. The annual resin consumption totals nearly 6 million pounds. Material is purchased by bulk truck, gaylord boxes and 2,100 lb octainers for the 6 major resins (HDPE, PP,PVC, PC, PETG, LDPE) that are used. An 80,000 lb. capacity silo for HDPE has been erected and an additional silo for is planned in the not too distant future. Large quantities of corrugate are required for blow molded product and suppliers deliver on a JIT basis to conserve space. Other forms of packaging that include returnable materials are in the works. To improve efficiency and reduce material handling on the production floor, a unique conveyor system is under construction to flow finished goods into the warehouse. This is essential as we make over 300 shipments a month.
